Easter Bunny Craftivity

Since Easter is coming up this Sunday, my class started talking about Easter bunnies.  We read the story the Easter Bunny's Assistant.  In the story the Easter Bunny's assistant was skunk and every time the skunk got excited he would spray his smell.  As a writing assignment the students were asked who would make a better assistant for the Easter Bunny.  They came up with really creative ideas such as themselves, a bird, a chick, and a few dogs.  We then decided to make an bunny craftivity.
This was the example that we worked from.

The supplies that we used were cotton balls as the tail, pink foam circles for the cheeks, pom poms for the nose, foam pieces for the whiskers, a white paper bag for the head and body, and googly eyes for the eyes.
As a spring gift each student was given carrot seeds to plan in their gardens.  They were told that they can grow them so when the Easter Bunny comes next year they will have a carrot to leave for him that they grew themselves.  They were also given a container of carrot shaped bubbles.  It was definetly a fun project to do right before our Spring party and Spring break!

Happy Easter to all!

Happy Learning,
Miss Perucki
